Kate （詩涵）是個自稱「假洋鬼子」的現代女性，而大日子將近的她卻決定在三峽老家舉行訂婚儀式。我有榮幸於2011年的10月底幫助她和老公張立廷將這個特別的場合拍攝下來。我去年已經寫過自己的感想配上部分的圖片，而新娘Kate從我提供的圖片中挑選出部份的照片並敘述那天的經過。 後來的迎娶儀式也是在老家辦理的，但因為我南下拍攝另外一場婚禮無緣記錄。 A self-described “Westerner wannabe,” Kate is a modern Taiwanese woman, who as her wedding day approached decided to hold a traditional engagement ceremony at her family’s traditional old homestead. 2011年已經接近尾聲了，對我來說時間一直有似乎在逐漸加速流逝的感覺，也難怪這一年感覺上是我一輩子過得最快的一年。如前幾年我在2011年中拍了不少照片，產量（張數）雖然減少了一些但是隨著我觀照的範圍的擴大所函蓋的題材以及拍攝的角度和方法增加了，舉凡包括鐵人三項賽事，站著餵蚊子拍攝夕陽，婚紗及婚宴，以及塑膠製的「玩具」相機。 在我們走入令人期待又怕受到傷害的2012年之刻，我挑選了一些本年度因各種原因屬於比較特別或成功的個人作品，其中包括從未發表過的幾張。 I took a lot of photos in 2011. 新娘Vicky和新郎Jack舉行交換戒指儀式正式成為夫妻並下樓準備坐禮車到新郎家時，新娘的哥哥把她心愛的狗狗抱下來歡送。眼看媽媽跟愛犬彼此不捨的情況之下，我立刻跑到騎樓下面，並把路邊的盆栽當綠色的畫框就把這張捕捉起來。能夠捕捉這樣的畫面並幫人留下感動時刻的回憶是我繼續拍攝婚禮最主要的理由。這張已經變成我特別喜歡的作品之一。 Not your typical wedding scene: The bride, Vicky, had an obvious attachment to her puppy, and vice versa. 我有幸拍攝過不少俊男美女，這是每個攝影師樂見的事情。不過，漂亮的畫面以外我更慶幸的是所拍的場合俱有心引人的故事性。Kate和立廷的訂婚就是發生在傳統建築老房子中非常有故事性的一場。被奶奶養大的Kate選擇回到三合院風格的老家與奶奶及親朋好友分享這一天的感動。 I have photographed some nice looking people, but have been especially fortunate to help tell some compelling stories in interesting settings through my lens.
